Serving Our Community
Johnson-Neilson American Legion Post 142 is proud to be part of the Kuna community. Our members believe that serving our country also means continuing to serve the people and community around us.
Throughout the year, our members volunteer their time, participate in local events, support community activities, and help create opportunities for veterans, families, and young people to come together.
Community Involvement
Our Post takes an active role in events and activities throughout Kuna. We believe that strong communities are built when people are willing to give their time, lend a helping hand, and work together.
Some of the ways our Post serves and participates in our community include:
- Memorial Day Ceremony – Coming together at Kuna Cemetery to remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.
- Wreaths Across America – Helping the Kuna community remember and honor our veterans by placing remembrance wreaths at Kuna Cemetery.
- Kuna Days – Participating in this annual Kuna community celebration and supporting local activities.
- Youth Programs – Supporting opportunities for young people through Boys State, Junior Shooting Sports, and Kuna American Legion Baseball.
- Volunteer Service – Giving our members opportunities to serve through community projects, events, and activities throughout the year.
Supporting the Next Generation
We believe that investing in young people helps build a stronger community for the future.
Through programs such as Boys State, Junior Shooting Sports, and Kuna American Legion Baseball, our Post helps provide young people with opportunities to develop leadership, responsibility, discipline, teamwork, citizenship, and confidence.
These programs give young people the opportunity to learn, compete, serve, and grow while building connections with veterans and members of their community.

Johnson-Neilson Post 142 provides a place where veterans can connect with one another, share experiences, find information about available resources and benefits, and continue serving alongside fellow veterans.
We welcome veterans who are eligible for membership, as well as those who are currently serving and looking for opportunities to stay connected with their community.

You don’t have to be a veteran to support the work of Johnson-Neilson American Legion Post 142.
Community members can support our programs by volunteering, attending local events, supporting our youth programs, helping with community activities, or simply coming out to show their support.
